Greg Nyhoff - Biography
Greg Nyhoff was appointed Modesto’s City Manager by the City Council and began serving the citizens
of Modesto on June 1, 2008.
Greg has over 25 years of management and leadership experience in municipal administration
including 17 years executive experience as City Manager. Through his experience, Greg has
developed comprehensive knowledge in strategic planning, community visioning, economic
development and public safety.
Prior to joining Modesto, Greg served as Assistant City Manager of Operations for the
City of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Greg has also served as City Manager of Fountain,
Colorado, and Montague, Michigan.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration/Economics
from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Greg and his wife Cindy reside in Modesto and have three children, ranging from ages 16 to 24.
